The new Firefox 4 version of the popular browser is out. The browser is better integrated inside the Gnome desktop but it is not perfect. The browser respect now the theme color and icon theme but still uses is own Tab layout. For better integration of the tabs inside the Linux desktop you can install the add-on “Stylish” that you can find here.
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/stylish/
With this add-on you can use scrips that can alter the layout of websites and even Firefox. To let Firefox respect the default gnome theme tabs you have to intall this script.

Now you can enjoy native tabs on Linux.

Only the Orta theme don’t support the black tabs inside Firefox this is a Orta theme configuration “problem” Orta uses other tabs on not GTK apps.
Enjoy native tabs on Firefox on Gnome Ubuntu (not tested in other distributions and desktop environments but i think that will work to.

Thank you, Firefox looks a lot better now. Did not know this was possible.
I use a theme called Wildcat – Arbeit Macbuntu ant Firefox looks a bit out of place but not anymore
